Introduction

Selecting the right capacitor motor for your fan application involves more than just matching power ratings. The motor must deliver the right combination of torque, speed, efficiency, and reliability for the specific fan type and operating environment.

This guide walks through the six key parameters to evaluate when choosing a CBB61 capacitor motor.

1. Power Rating

Match motor power to fan size and airflow requirements:

Fan Type

Typical Power Range

Small table fan

15–30W

Standard table/stand fan

30–60W

Wall fan

20–50W

Exhaust fan

5–40W

Industrial fan (3-in-1)

55–150W

2. Speed

Most fan motors operate at 1,000–1,500 RPM (50Hz) or 1,200–1,800 RPM (60Hz). Multiple speed settings require tapped windings or external controllers.

3. Voltage and Frequency

Standard options: 110V/60Hz (North America), 220–240V/50Hz (Europe, Asia). Confirm target market requirements before ordering — the same motor cannot run on both without modification

4. Physical Size and Mounting

Consider shaft diameter(common standard sizes are 8mm, 10mm, 12mm) , shaft length, mounting bracket configuration, and overall motor dimensions. Additionally, verify whether it has a D-cut, keyway, or smooth surface for the fan blade hub. Custom shafts and brackets are available for OEM orders.

5. Noise Level

For residential fans, noise should be below 45 dB(A). Bearing quality, rotor balancing, and winding design all affect noise.

6. Lifespan and Reliability

Look for bearings rated for 20,000+ hours and insulation class B or F. For continuous-duty applications, consider motors with higher temperature ratings.

Quick Selection Reference

Fan Type

Recommended Power

Capacitance

Exhaust fan

5–40W

1.0–1.5μF

Table fan

15–60W

1.0–1.5μF

Wall fan

20–70W

1.0–2.0μF

Stand fan

30–80W

1.2–2.0μF

Industrial fan(3-in-1)

55–150W

2.0–6.0μF

Conclusion

Choosing the right capacitor motor requires balancing power, speed, size, noise, and cost. Partnering with a manufacturer that offers both standard and custom solutions ensures you get the right motor for your specific fan application.
